Friendly Valley Country Club Retirement Community

Friendly Valley Country Club offers active retirement living with special attention to golfing enthusiasts.

There are two golf courses in the community. The 18-hole course is a pitch and putt circuit. And there’s an executive course with nine 3-par fairways. The courses are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Resident play is included in the monthly association fees and guests play for $5.

Other Friendly Valley amenities and activities included in the association fees are a swimming pool and hot pool, fitness center, arts and crafts studios, travel and social clubs, cable TV and a community shuttle service.

The community consists of about 1300 single-level homes with a variety of floorplans ranging from one bedroom/one bath models at 666 square feet to three bedroom/two bath models with two-car garages at 1900 square feet. Resale Home prices range from about $150,000 to $550,000.

The homes were built in phases from 1963 until 2004 and the different phases are organized into 13 different homeowners associations. Association fees range from $200 to $350 a month and cover all outside maintenance including roofs, exterior painting, gardening, watering, and exterior insurance.

Friendly Valley is a gate guarded community and the gates are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. But visitor access is a simple procedure and visits by children and grandchildren are encouraged.

The country club is located in the Santa Clarita Valley town of Newhall about 10 miles from Magic Mountain amusement park and about 25 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

State law specifies that in all senior communities one member of the household must be at least 55 years of age, and additional residents 45 years old (with exceptions for caretaker situations), but homes can be purchased and owned by younger buyers.
