Sun City Palm Desert Active Retirement Community
Sun City Palm Desert is in the Palm Springs resort area at the base of the Shadow Mountains in the heart of the Coachella Valley. This guard gated community spans 1,600 manicured acres with easy access to the I-10 freeway and all the desert has to offer.
The community has two championship 18-hole golf courses to fit every skill level. Tennis players have 10 championship courts on which to play as well as four paddle tennis courts. There are two state-of-the-art fitness centers with trainers available, an indoor walking track to make exercise available even in the summer, as well as three outdoor swimming pools and spas and one indoor pool and spa.
Sun City has three clubhouses with all the amenities of a fine resort like card rooms, a theater, a library with books and magazines for all tastes. There are two restaurants and a bar that serves cocktails in the evening and specialty coffees in the morning.
Resale prices for residences at Sun City Palm Desert range from $200,000 to $800,000 with HOA/maintenance fees ranging from $150 to $250 a month for the recreational facilities, landscaping, sewer and trash services.
One member of the household must be at least 55 years of age in California senior communities, and other members 45 (except in caretaker situations), but homes can always be purchased and owned by younger buyers.
